Story Title: An Opportunity to Learn
Akira: Looks like this shop has a bunch of long, thin weapons like lances, swords and whatnot…
Heathcliff: I think it may stock medium range weapons?
Akira: I see… How about this one?
Akira: It looks like an axe attached to a super long handle.
Heathcliff: Ah, that one is called a halberd.
Heathcliff: It used to be a standard weapon for soldiers, but nowadays it’s basically out of use.
Akira: I didn’t know that… Very impressive, Heath! Did you study a lot about weaponry back home?
Heathcliff: No, I’m still learning from my father and reading books. There’s plenty of things I don’t know much about.
Heathcliff: As for the halberd, it wasn’t because of my studies, it left an impression on me for a different reason.
Akira: A different reason?
Heathcliff: Yes, we once received an invitation to visit an aristocrat’s home and I saw a halberd there.
Heathcliff: The decorations were all so beautiful that I couldn’t forget them. So, I committed everything I learned from that occasion to memory.
Heathcliff: Pardon me, that didn’t really have anything to do with the history lesson!
Akira: Please don’t apologize. It sounds like a lovely memory, it had ‘you’ written all over it!
