Cain: Rustica, have you ever heard of Santa Claus?
Rustica: It makes me think of the beautiful chime of a bell. Or perhaps the name of a lovely flower, or glittering jewel.
Cain: Ahaha, unfortunately, those are wrong.
Cain: It’s said to be the name of an old man who goes all over the world and delivers presents to good children once every year.
Rustica: That’s wonderful~ Is this Santa Claus a wizard?
Cain: Erm, probably not.
Cain: During the year, children will try real hard to be on their best behavior though. That way, they can get excited about receiving gifts.
Cain: I heard about it from Master Sage. Pretty heroic, huh? Like the Knights of the Round Table!*
Rustica: Mmhmm. Just from hearing that story, you can tell his heart is overflowing with kindness and affection for children.
Rustica: What an absolutely splendid person. They surely must be my bride.
Cain: Huh?
Rustica: Where is this person right now? In the market perhaps, picking out a gift? I simply have to go meet them at once…
Cain: Wait, wait! I didn’t explain myself clearly, Santa Claus is just a folktale from the Sage’s world.
Cain: So in that case, I think that meeting him here may be difficult.
Rustica: I see… I thought I had finally found my bride, only to learn that she’s in some far off mystical land…
Cain: …Hey, don’t look so sad. A smile suits you much better.
Rustica: Thank you, Cain. Your words are very kindhearted.
Cain: Don’t mention it. Plus, who knows, maybe someday you’ll find a way to travel back and forth from the Sage’s world whenever you’d like.
Cain: A long distance relationship with a bride from another world is something you don’t even see in stories! But, I think you could pull it off.
Rustica: Oh Cain, you truly are a compassionate person.
Rustica: Could it be that you are my bride after all?
Cain: Oh, is that what you gathered from this?!
Rustica: I’m sorry that I didn’t notice you even though we were so close. But it’s no matter, for we will never be apart again.
Cain: No, no, no! I am not your bri-
Rustica: Amores Viesse
*TL note: Cain says “ロマン” (roman) here which refers to the genre of Arthurian romance stories, ie. Knights of the Round Table.
